Associate Professor Peter Brotchie is an Academic Neuroradiologist at St Vincent’s Hospital, Melbourne. He holds the position of Director of Research in the Medical Imaging Department. Peter studied medicine at the University of Melbourne and trained as a radiologist at St Vincent’s Hospital.
After completing a Fellowship in MRI at the Long Beach Memorial MRI Centre in California, he took the position of Director of MRI at University Hospital, Geelong, before returning to St Vincent’s Hospital in 2012. Over the course of two decades, Peter has accumulated extensive experience in the field of radiology, with a specific focus on neuroradiology. He has a strong academic background in neuroscience and medical imaging with a PhD in neurophysiology from Monash University and a postdoctoral Fellowship in vision research from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Peter has made significant contributions to the scientific literature through numerous publications in leading journals. More recently, he has become involved in the development and testing of artificial intelligence to enhance the quality of diagnostic medical imaging.
