Dr Ash Jhamb is an Australian trained Interventional Neuroradiologist. He completed his medical training at University of Queensland and went on to complete radiology training at the Alfred Hospital in 2005. He subsequently completed an Interventional Radiology (IR) fellowship at the Alfred and Interventional Neuroradiology (INR) fellowship at Vancouver General Hospital and New Delhi Hospital. Having obtained specialist accreditation with the European Board of Interventional Radiology (EBIR), Ash received accreditation from the Conjoint Committee for Recognition of Training in Interventional Neuroradiology (CCINR) and was recognised for his expertise in the field of minimally invasive treatments of the brain and spine.
Ash has worked as Staff Specialist at the St Vincent’s Hospital / Austin Hospital combined INR service since 2012 providing 24/7 coverage of Neurovascular emergencies. He has been the Director of Interventional Radiology and Neurointervention at St Vincent’s Hospital for more than 10 years. Ash has a strong commitment to medical education overseeing the IR and INR training program investing in the next generation of interventional specialists.
Ash has had previous specialist public appointments at Royal Brisbane and St Andrews Private Hospitals in Brisbane and academic appointments with University of Melbourne. His current interests lie in all areas of general intervention with additional interest in spinal intervention, endovascular management of aneurysms, brain arteriovenous malformations and hyperacute stroke treatments (endovascular clot retrieval).
